You all confidently took part in a fantastic assembly and worked as a great team to ensure a super performance. I was equally proud of you all at our very first "Stay & Share" session - the discussions you had about your learning were amazing. We thank the parents too for making this such a fun experience.

What perfect weather we had to explore our learning about capacity! Lots of vocabulary was being used: full, half full empty, estimating, measuring, how many more?
Our imaginative play led us into making a lemonade stand, with an ever expanding menu of drinks each day! We counted out our pennies to pay for our drinks and made the signs we needed.

Well, our tadpole update is that we now have some froglets and they have been great fun to watch! However, as half-term is upon us, it's time to wish them well in the world and return them to their natural environment. We shall say a prayer to keep them safe and thank them for all they have taught us.
A big thank you to Badger Class for the amazing stories you came to read to us this week. The children really enjoyed it and it inspired some to write their own changed story so, instead of "The Hungry Caterpillar", they wrote about other hungry animals. I have to say I enjoyed seeing and hearing those stories as much as the Reception children did. Badger Class, you have all made such huge progress and I remember the day when you all started in Reception and now you are such accomplished learners! Our Rabbits really look up to you and aspire to do the same.
For your half-term home learning I am sending home some "wow" slips on which I would love you to let me know of any achievements, but especially those achievements you make with technology, eg, operating remote controls, completing simple programs and recognising technology in your home not just the computers. You can also keep exploring capacity - even in your bath!
One request for next term: can you please keep an old pair of children's shoes for an art project? Many thanks!
In English next term we will continue to work on our fluency of reading and spelling key words, and in maths we will be reading, writing and ordering numbers to 20 and beyond. Also next term, I know you are going to enjoy our whole school topic of "Enchanted Wonderland" - we have lots of fun and creative ideas from which to start our learning.
Have a great half-term everyone with lots of outdoor fun!
